Shoot for Hope Photo Workshop for a Cause Shoot for Hope was organized in a matter of days, just less than 2 weeks. When Typhoon Sendong ravaged areas in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, Rhonson and I immediately gathered our very good friends to come up with a fundraising event. In June 0f 2011, Rhonson and I were victims of a flashflood which prompted us to move out and relocate. Help came from our good friends, and one with the most impact was the workshop that our kumpare Manny Librodo organized along with his good friends Bobby Wong and Aly Reyes. Together with buddies and other top photographers who waived their professional fees in support of our situation, the workshop was able to raise funds which they sent to us (or rather, Rhonson flew to Manila to humbly accept it). In Davao, the Simbang Gabi tradition is even more significant because we do not celebrate Christmas in a loud way. This season is a special moment for families and loved ones to gather together and celebrate the nativity of Christ as well as give thanks to blessings received the whole year round.
Last June, Rhonson Ng and I were flash flood victims but we managed to escape after losing our home and things. Good friends came to support us materially, spiritually and emotionally. Renowned photographer Manny Librodo, together with good friends Bobby Wong Jr. and Aly Reyes pooled their support group and tapped great photographers who unselfishly offered their time and expertise in a one day workshop in Manila which helped us tremendously in getting us back on our feet back again. Inspired by this concept, Rhon and I decided it was time to pay it forward. This time around, we asked our photographer buddies in Davao to do this event for us, and they all agreed. Please help us help the typhoon victims as soon as possible. Spread the word. Thank you and Merry Christmas. Please follow and like us:
