Columbia Sportswear heads off to Davao

The fourth leg of the Columbia Trail Masters opens its registration. Columbia Sportswear, a brand best known for its innovative outdoor gear and equipments, announces the fourth instalment of the much awaited, Trail Masters series. The series which begun last 2009 in Nuvali, Laguna, which travelled to Cebu and Bukidnon, is now opening its registration in Davao city. The fourth leg of the Columbia Trail Masters is brought to Paradise Island Beach Resort, Samal Island Davao, this coming November 17, 2012. This leg includes two disciplines, trail running and off-road biking. There are also mud courses along the race to add some fun twist to the already challenging race. The race will consists of two categories, the adventure race – which will include the off road biking and trail running, for the more experience athletes and the 10K trail run category, for the weekend warriors. Am all set tomorrow to give a one hour talk to the many participants registered in the first Davao Blog Weekend Bootcamp. Blog Weekend Bootcamp is an intensive 3-day live-in conference with breakout sessions and hands-on workshop on September 21-23, 2012 at the Malagos Garden Resort in Davao City.  It is an excellent opportunity for writers and bloggers to sharpen their skills and maximize growth in the areas of new media creation such as creative writing, video blogging, photo blogging, and Social Media. Opening this wonderful opportunity to the youth is the country’s largest flag carrier, Cebu Pacific, which offers six destinations to explore in a budget travel competition from August 29 to September 2. Each team is given P30,000 allowance where the primary goal is to accomplish the most number of fun activities in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Clark, Davao, Iloilo and Manila. The team who was able to spend the least amount of money wins 12 Cebu Pacific tickets to any domestic or international destination of their choice, 3 hotel accommodation packages and 3 Canon S100 cameras. Marco Polo Davao gears up for Fright Run 2011 At Marco Polo Davao’s Fright Run 2011 this October 30, pound the pavement with Halloween characters as well as family and friends. “Sprint past the rest in 4K, 8K, and 16K races, with cash prizes and gift items for the top three winners in each category,” hotel General Manager Bruno Simeoni said. Registration fee is Php 300 for the 4K and 8K, and Php350 for the 16K run. Rates are inclusive of a singlet, light breakfast, a finisher’s certificate, and a raffle coupon. 16K runners will be given a finisher’s medal. The hotel also offers a 10+1 promo for runners who register as a group of 10. “The 11th runner gets a free singlet,” says event chairperson Sally Tungpalan. Runners assemble at 4:30 AM for stretching exercises. The race will start at 5:45 AM. The start and end point is at the Padre Gomez corner along Roxas Avenue.
