Delegates from MICECON 2013 were given a leisurely excursion in the premises of Abreeza Mall as part of their Davao city tour last March 8. The who’s who of Davao mingled with the members of the media and other VIPs as SM Lanang Premier opened its doors to the community a day before its official public opening on September 28. After the Mass and ribbon cutting, officials and special guests led by Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and the SM VIPs went the rounds of what is reported to be Mindanao’s biggest mall. Guests were ushered in to registration tables to be given identification cards and stickers as guests. Gift cards, certificates and items were given to those with invitations to stores like Forever 21, Mountain Headwear, Watsons, and other stores. There was also a free screening in IMAX. Forever 21 launched its own fashion show before the store opening, while SMX opened its huge area for trade fairs and exhibits. This opening celebration will last for four days, and will give Dabawenyos something to look forward to in shopping, hanging out and bonding with family and friends. Blog Weekend Bootcamp is an intensive 3-day live-in conference with breakout sessions and hands-on workshop on September 21-23, 2012 at the Malagos Garden Resort in Davao City. It is an excellent opportunity for writers and bloggers to sharpen their skills and maximize growth in the areas of new media creation such as creative writing, video blogging, photo blogging, and Social Media.
