People’s Park is an urban public park in central Davao City covering an area of 4 hectares. Carte Blanche: Electric Music Carnival, Davao’s very own electronic music dance festival, is all set to shake the grounds at the Crocodile Park Concert Park on November 15, 2014.
Davao Lights Up for Christmas (2013) Photojournalist Jojie Alcantara goes around town one night to document gaily colored holiday bright lights festooned in the streets, illuminating Davao at its finest. Carte Blanche, (kart blansh) a French phrase for ‘blank check or ticket’, also means ‘unrestricted power to act at one’s own discretion; unconditional authority”. So “Leave your mark,” the slogan says. This event is brought to you by Manic Nightnings Productions and Party Animal Events Productions.
San Pedro Street, Davao City © Jojie Alcantara 2013 Sunday is always a good day for bargain hunters, more so this March with the Araw ng Davao festivities in the air. On Sunday evenings, San Pedro Street transforms into a festive delight for “ukay” shoppers as a sea of humanity crams the main street and turns it into a veritable night market extravaganza. This month of March, though, it’s a daily happening, causing more traffic, but the people don’t seem to mind. 🙂 * * * *
